Kirkwall presbytery
A higher court of the Church of Scotland. It was in the synod of Orkney. Up to 1707 it was sometimes known as the presbytery of Orkney or Old Orkney and covered all of the Orkney parishes, but at that date it parishes were removed to form the presbytery of North Isles. In 1725 it was divided again to form the presbytery of Cairston.Records available
