Kirkcowan United Secession, United Presbyterian kirk session
A secession church court. It began as a United Secession group in the 1740s. It was not a separate congregation until 1836. The congregation passed to the United Presbyterian Church in 1847, to the United Free Church (as Kirkcowan but known as Dawson Memorial) in 1900, and to the Church of Scotland, as Dawson Memorial, in 1929. It united with Kirkcowan St Conan's in 1954 to be known as Kirkcowan.
