Milnathort Associate (Burgher), Church of Scotland kirk session
A secession church parish. It was formed in 1740, when the minister of Orwell parish left the established church and formed his own congregation. The majority of the congregation went into the Church of Scotland at the reunion of the Associate Burgher (Auld Licht) synod in 1839. However, they once again left the established church after the Disruption of 1843, and the charge was renamed Orwell in 1845. The charge passed to the United Free Church in 1900. It united with the other local United Free church charge of Milnathort in 1927.
