Kilchrenan and Dalavich kirk session

A church court that sat within the presbytery of Inveraray, later of Lorn, later of Lorn and Mull and the synod of Argyll. The kirk session of Kilchrenen and Dalavich was established in 1661 by the union of the two parishes. Following the union both parishes retained its own church and during the later years of the 18th century each building was replaced by a new structure. Of old the church of Kilchrenen had belonged to the Abbey of Paisley and held a dedication to St Peter the Deacon.
