Galashiels kirk session

A church court that sat within the presbytery of Selkirk, later of Melrose, later of Melrose and Peebles, and the synod of Merse and Teviotdale. The parish church of Galashiels belonged, prior to the reformation, to the Abbey of Kelso. Part of the parish was removed to form the quoad sacra parish of Galashiels West in 1874, and another part to form Caddonfoot parish in 1898.
