Foveran kirk session
A church court that sat within the presbytery of presbytery of Ellon, and the synod of Aberdeen. It dates back as far as 1261, when the Earl of Buchan gave over a small portion of land at Newburgh to six poor prebends for the purpose of celebrating mass. Ministry is recorded from 1567.
