Forres presbytery

A higher court of the Church of Scotland. It was erected in 1590, and was in the synod of Moray. From 1689 to 1702 it was part of the united presbyteries of Moray. From 1702 until 1708 it was united with the presbytery of Inverness. In 1773 the parishes of Ardclach, Auldearn and Nairn were removed to the presbytery of Nairn.
