Edinburgh - New Greyfriars kirk session

A church court that sat within the presbytery of Edinburgh and the synod of Lothian and Tweeddale. It originated in 1722, when the Greyfriars kirk was rebuilt after the destruction of the tower in 1718 and four bays at the west end of the reconstructed building became New Greyfriars (originally called Wester Greyfriars). The parish area comprised some of Old Greyfriars and the Tolbooth.
