Edinburgh - Fountainbridge Free kirk session

A secession church court. It began as a Free Church mission in 1872. When the original Fountainbridge Free was transported to Viewforth, some mission work remained with the original worshippers in Fountainbridge and a new Fountainbridge Free was sanctioned in 1874. In 1896, this congregation was transported to Merchiston where it became known as Edinburgh Candlish: it passed to the United Free Church in 1900 as Fountainbridge, changed to Candlish United Free in 1901, and passed to the Church of Scotland in 1929.
