Dunrossness and Fair Isle kirk session

A church court that sat within the presbytery of Lerwick and the synod of Shetland. It was formed from the ancient parishes of Dunrossness, Sandwick, Fair Isle and Cunningsburgh. In 1870 Sandwick and Cunningsburgh were disjoined to form the quoad sacra parish of Sandwick. A Royal Bounty mission station serving Fair Isle, Foula and Skerries was established about 1730 and continued until 1794. Thereafter the parish of Dunrossness maintained a mission at Fair Isle, which had its own kirk session for a time (at least between 1828 and 1841).
