Shetland - Cunningsburgh Free, United Free, Church of Scotland kirk session

A secession kirk session in Shetland. It began in 1844, after the majority of the congregation of the parliamentary church in Sandwick joined the Free Church. In 1900 it united with the former mission station in Sandwick as Cunningsburgh and Sandwick (Free) and in 1901 this parish joined the United Free Church. In 1929 it became the Church of Scotland parish of Cunningsburgh (the Sandwick mission station being treated as Sandwick - West). For the ancient parish of Cunningsburgh, see the entries on Dunrossness and Sandwick.
