Dalton Free, United Free kirk session

A secession church court. It began as a preaching station in 1862 and became a full charge in 1868 within the Free Presbytery of Dumfries and Penpont. After joining the United Free Church in 1900 the congregation united four years later with Hightae, in the United Free Presbytery of Annandale. It came into the Church of Scotland as Hightae in 1929 and was linked with the parish of Dalton in 1957.
