Chirnside Reformed Presbyterian, Free, United Free kirk session
A secession church court. It began as a Reformed Presbyterian congregation prior to 1780 from the Praying Societies within the area. In 1876 the charge joined with the Free Church to form Chirnside Free Church. In 1900, upon the union of the Free Church and the United Presbyterians, Chirnside Free Church was renamed Chirnside West United Free Church and in 1919 Chirnside West joined with the congregation of Chirnside Erskine, under the name of Chirnside United Free Church. Following the 1929 union of the United Free Church and the Church of Scotland, Chirnside United Free became Chirnside North Church of Scotland and a further union followed in 1952 with the congregation of Chirnside Old, to become Chirnside Church of Scotland.
