Cavers kirk session
A church court that sat within the presbytery of Hawick, then Jedburgh, and the synod of Merse and Teviotdale. Reference is made to the church of Cavers as early as 1116, when it belonged to the church of Glasgow. However in 1358, it was granted to the Monks of Melrose. A new church was erected in 1663. Ministry of the session is recorded from 1574.Records available
