Callander kirk session

A church court that sat within the presbytery of Stirling and Dunblane, later of Stirling, and the synod of Perth and Stirling. Callander's ancient church was dedicated to St Kessog, a follower of St Columba of Iona. The church belonged to the Bishopric of Dunblane until 1594 when it was passed to Callander. Leny parish was annexed into Callander in 1615 and Kilmahog parish was united with Callander in 1620. Part of Callander parish was removed in 1866 to form the quoad sacra parish of Trossachs.
