Caithness presbytery
A higher court of the Church of Scotland. It has its origins in a local church court erected some time between 1581 and 1593 in the synod of Sutherland. It was formally reconstituted a presbytery in 1697 under the synod of Orkney. It was moved to the synod of Ross in 1725, and to the synod of Sutherland and Caithness in 1726.
