Botriphnie Free, United Free kirk session

A secession church court. Botriphnie Free Church originated in 1843, the minister having already been deposed in one of the leading cases which led to the Disruption. It became Botriphnie United Free Church in 1900 and united with Cairnie (United Free) in 1926. It became a Church of Scotland parish in 1929, but in 1930 Botriphnie and Cairnie West (as it then was) were split, leading to the formation of two separate charges of Botriphnie and Cairnie.
