Biggar presbytery
A higher court of the Church of Scotland. After being disjointed from the Presbyteries of Lanark and Peebles, Biggar Presbytery was erected by the General Assembly on 12 August 1643 and 3 June 1644. Biggar church, dedicated to St. Nicholas, was built in 1545 and was erected into a collegiate church in honour of the Trinity and the Virgin Mary by Lord Fleming.
