Saltcoats - South Beach United Free, Church of Scotland kirk session
A secession church court. It began as Saltcoats Gaelic Free Church in 1843. From 1852 the charge was reduced to a preaching station, but a the provision of a new church in 1867 seems to have led to renewal of full status in the following year. The Gaelic-speaking population declined, but the church continued without the Gaelic element. It passed to the United Free Church in 1900, as Saltcoats South Beach, and then to the Church of Scotland, and united in 1964 with Saltcoats St Cuthbert's as Saltcoats St Cuthbert's South Beach.
