Saltcoats - Trinity Relief, United Presbyterian, United Free, Church of Scotland kirk session
A secession church court. It began in 1781 when application was made to the Relief Presbytery of Glasgow by a group of people resident in the parishes of Ardrossan and West Kilbride who wished to be received as a Relief Congregation. Accordingly a preacher was appointed to Saltcoats and this became the centre of the new Relief Church. In 1847 Saltcoats Trinity Relief Church became part of the United Presbyterian Church. Following the union between the United Presbyterian Church and the Free Church of Scotland in 1900, Saltcoats Trinity United Presbyterian Church became Saltcoats Trinity United Free Church, and upon the 1929 union between the United Free Church of Scotland and the Church of Scotland, the charge became Saltcoats Trinity Church of Scotland. In 1968 Saltcoats Trinity united with the congregation of Saltcoats Landsborough, under the name of Saltcoats Landsborough and Trinity, and further union followed in 1993 with Saltcoats Erskine, to form the congregation of Saltcoats New Trinity.
