Alloa - West Associate, United Presbyterian, United Free, Church of Scotland kirk session
A secession church court. It began in 1765 as an Associate (Burgher) church in the Associate Presbytery of Stirling. About 1800 there was a secession of 310 members and 160 adherents to the Auld Licht cause, who founded Alloa - East. In 1820, the remaining New Licht members joined the United Secession Church as Alloa West Secession Church. In 1847 the United Secession Church united with the Relief Church to form the United Presbyterian Church and the congregation became known as Alloa West United Presbyterian. In 1900 the congregation became Alloa West United Free Church, and in 1929 Alloa West Church of Scotland.
