A Church of Scotland presbytery. It was in the synod of Moray. Until 1709 it was united sometimes with the presbytery of Abernethy. In 1719 the presbytery was supressed and its parishes transferred to the presbyteries of Abernethy, Strathbogie and Elgin. It was re-erected in 1727.
