From Thursday 6 April until Saturday 8 April, ScotlandsPeople will take up residence south of the border at ‘Who Do You Think You Are? Live 2017 at Birmingham NEC. As we are normally based in Edinburgh, we are looking forward to meeting family historians from all over Britain and beyond.
Come and see us at stand 222, where experts will be on hand to help you find and view records on our website. Appointments can be made from 9.30 am each day for free 10 minute sessions between 10 am and 5.30 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
As well as individual consultations, ScotlandsPeople will host two talks in theatre two.
On Thursday from 12.15 pm to 1 pm, Iain Ferguson, manager of the ScotlandsPeople website will explain helpful hints and tips for searching for your Scottish ancestors on the ScotlandsPeople website.
On Friday from 10.15 am to 11 am, experienced archivist and author, Tristram Clarke will give a talk detailing the various different types of records that are held by National Records of Scotland. Tristram will explain how the records work and the ways in which you can use them in your family history search.
