Poser 300 - Hearth Tax for Argyll, 1694

This poser is a passage from the Hearth Tax records for Argyll, 1694 (Crown copyright, National Records of Scotland, E69/3/1, page 6). This page is from the entry for the area around the head of Loch Long, to the west of Loch Lomond.

The hearth tax was raised between 1691 and 1695 and was payable by both landowners and tenants based on the number of hearths in their homes.

Watch out for the use of Nc for a feminine patronym and the curl above each u to indicate that the letter is a u not an n.
