Tongue

A parish in the county of Sutherland. It was a quoad omnia parish (a parish for civil and religious purposes).

Tongue presbytery

A Church of Scotland presbytery. It was in the synod of Sutherland and Caithness, and was formed in 1726 from parishes in the presbyteries of Caithness and Dornoch. The parish of Assynt was removed from the presbytery of Tongue to the presbytery of Dornoch in 1736.
