Pabay (Skye)

An island to the east of Skye, in the parish of Strath and the county of Inverness. It was sometimes known as Pabba. Not to be confused with several other islands named Pabbay and Pabay, including Pabay Mor, Pabbay (Harris) and Pabbay (Bishops Isles).

Scalpay (Skye)

An island in the Inner Hebrides, in the parish of Strath and the county of Inverness. Not to be confused with another island of the same name, for which see under Scalpay (Harris)

Skye

The largest island of the Inner Hebrides, containing the parishes of Kilmuir, Snizort, Duirinish, Bracadale, Portree, Strath and Sleat, all in the county of Inverness. It was sometimes known as Sky.

Skye presbytery

A Church of Scotland presbytery. It was was first mentioned in 1642 and was originally in the synod of Argyll. It became part of the synod of Glenelg in 1724 when it also lost the islands of the Outer Hebrides to the presbytery of Lewis.

Soay (Skye)

An island in the Inner Hebrides, in the parish of Bracadale and the county of Inverness. Not to be confused with other islands of the same name, such as Soay (St Kilda) and Soay Mor.

Wiay (Skye)

An island in the Inner Hebrides, in the parish of Bracadale and the county of Inverness. It was sometimes known as Vuiay, Wia or Buia. Not to be confused with the island of Wiay (Uist).
