Glasgow

A parish in the county of Lanark. It was a quoad omnia parish (a parish for civil and religious purposes). In 1898 the civil parish absorbed the neighbouring parish of Barony. For kirk session and other church court records for Glasgow parishes, see separate entry for Glasgow city.

Glasgow and Ayr synod

A Church of Scotland synod. It contained the presbyteries of Ayr, Dumbarton, Glasgow, Greenock, Hamilton, Irvine, Lanark, and Paisley. Renamed synod of Clydesdale in 1929.

Glasgow presbytery

A Church of Scotland presbytery. It was erected in 1581 and was in the synod of Glasgow and Ayr.

Port Glasgow

A parish in the county of Renfrew. It was a quoad omnia parish (a parish for civil and religious purposes).
