Elgin

A parish in the county of Moray. It was a quoad omnia parish (a parish for civil and religious purposes).

Elgin presbytery

A Church of Scotland presbytery. It was in the synod of Moray, and became part of the presbytery of Moray in 1976. In 1719 the presbytery of Aberlour was supressed and some of its parishes transferred to the presbytery of Elgin. About the same time the parish of Bellie was removed to the presbytery of Strathbogie. Aberlour was re-erected in 1727.
