Berneray

There are several islands called Bernera or Berneray. For significant inhabited ones see under Berneray (Bishops Isles), Berneray (Sound of Harris) and Great Bernera and Little Bernera.

Berneray (Bishops Isles)

An island in the Outer Hebrides, to the south of Barra, one of the Bishops Isles, in the parish of Barra and the county of Inverness. It was sometimes known as Barra Head. There are other islands called Berneray and Bernera: see under Great Bernera, Little Bernera and Berneray (Sound of Harris).

Berneray (Sound of Harris)

An island in the Outer Hebrides, in the parish of Harris and the county of Inverness. It is now joined to North Uist by a causeway. It was sometimes known as Bernera.
