Poser 322 - High Court Book of Adjournal, 1819

This poser is taken from a High Court of Justiciary book of adjournal (Crown copyright, National Records of Scotland, JC13/47, page 59) and dates from 1819. The passage concerns the case against Thomas McMenomy, who was charged for the crime of theft by housebreaking.

The High Court is Scotland's supreme criminal court and each day's proceedings were recorded in the book of adjournal. When using such records for the first time the language can seem strange and rather ornate so you should watch out for unusual words or turns of phrase.
