Answer: Mr Robert McKerlie had the new responsibility of being the congregation's representative elder in the Presbytery of Lothian and Tweedale. Alexander Greig was being admonished for the sin of ante-nuptial fornication.

The Session proceeded to elect one of their
number to represent them as Elder in the
presbytery of Edinburgh and Synod of
Lothian, and
Tweedale and elected Mr
Robert McKerlie to that office for the
Current half year. same day appeared Alex[made]r
Greig for the sin of antenuptial fornication, who after
being solemnly admonished, and showing sorrow, and
contrition was allowed to bring forward his child
next Sunday for Baptism
