Poser 293 - Minutes of Duddingston Kirk Session, 1752
In this poser, taken from the minutes of Duddingston Kirk Session, 1752, we asked what was changing that day and why?
Answer: The date was changing on that day from being the 3 September 1752 to being the 14 September 1752. This was because the Julian calendar was being replaced by the Gregorian calendar in Britain.

New Style [in margin]
Hereafter the Gregorian or New style is used. It commenced
in Britain by Act of Parliament, Sep[tembe]r 3[r]d 1752, which 3[r]d
was reckoned 14th thereof by the New styles eleven days
being dropt. The Julian, or old stile, has continued 1795
years & in that time has differed from 1795 true so-
-lar years, 13 days & more than one half. But even this
new Calendar differs one day, in 5000 years, from 5000
solar years, or fifty solar centuries. See Register of Births Sep[tembe]r
1752
