| | Joseph Hume SC70/4/46 [p.351] [In margin] Joseph Hume Vide Record of Inventories Vol. 91 p 487. 14 June 1856 [main text] Extracted from the Registry of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury In the Will of Joseph Hume late of Bryanston in the parish of Saint Marylebone in the County of Middlesex and of Burnley Hall East Somerton in the County of Norfolk Esquire deceased dated 6th September 1857 is as follows:- I Joseph Hume of Bryanston Square in the parish of Marylebone and County of Middlesex being by the blessing of God in health and of sound mind, yet ignorant how long these blessings may be Continued to me, do make this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills Ninthly Ninthly –For the carrying all the provisions of this my last Will into effect Maria Hume my beloved Wife William Frederick Burnley Esquire of Glasgow and William Braikenridge Esquire of Bartletts Buildings Solicitors to be my Executors and any two of them I authorise to act in all matters herein directed in case of the absence of either of the three temporarily but in case of the death or resignation of either of the three I request and direct that the remaining two shall select and nominate another in the room of the one dead or resigned, so as always to have three Executors acting under this Will and every person so chosen by my Executors or their Appointees shall [p.353] shall have full power to act in every matter provided for and contained in this Will as if they had been appointed and names in this Will- Further I direct that each Executor shall be accountable only for such monies or other property as she or he shall receive in execution of this trusts reposed in them by this Will And I authorise my Executors to reimburse themselves out of the monies in their charge all legal expences which they separately of jointly may incur in execution of the trusts herein devolved upon them The whole of this my last Will and Testament written by my hand on four sides and signed on each page with with my own hand this sixth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty one __ Joseph Hume Signed published and declared by the Testator Joseph Hume Esquire as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us present at the same time who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as Witnesses __ Geo Ino Braikenridge 16 Bartletts Buildings London Solicitor __ James Knight of the same place Assistant to Wm Braikenbridge of the same place Solicitor Willm Greatbatch Clerk to Mr Wm Braikenridge Proved [p.355] Proved at London the 21st April 1855 before the Worshipful Frederic Thomas Pratt Doctor of Laws and Surrogate by the Oaths of Maria Hume Widow the Relict & William Braikenridge Esquire two of the executors to whom Administration was granted having been first sworn duly to administer Power reserved of making the like Grant to William Frederick Burnley Esquire the other Executor when he shall apply for the same.
