Sessions & Credits
In order to access the indexes and images of statutory, old parish register, catholic parish register and census records, you must first purchase page credits.
- Page credits are available in increments of 30 for 6GBP. See Payment Process for detailed information on how to pay.
- Your session starts when your credit/debit card purchase is authorised, and lasts 90 consecutive days.
- Once you have exceeded your 90-day period, or your 30 page credits, whichever comes first, you may buy more credits by logging in and clicking "Need MORE?" from the top menu bar.
- You will not lose any unused credits after your 90-day session expires; the credits you purchase for your next session will simply be added to your existing base.
- You may leave the site and return at any time within your 90 consecutive days of access and continue to use the search facilities so long as your page credits have not run out.
- If you have been inactive on the site for more than 60 minutes however, you will be asked to log in again, but you will not have to buy more credits to continue searching.
- If you run out of page credits during a search, or you do not have enough credits left to view an image, you will be sent automatically to the Purchase credits page. If you wish to continue with your search, select the payment method and number of credits that you wish to purchase, then click on the PURCHASE button and you will be taken through the payment process.
- Your purchase of additional credits activates a new session of 90 consecutive days.
Free surname search
To make efficient use of your page credits, you may wish to use the free surname search on our home page before you start your search. This will give you the opportunity to test how many results you might find with the surname of your choice across the different records. You can then refine your searches if you decide to become a registered user and purchase credits. You will always be told how many pages of records your search has produced, and be given the option whether or not to proceed before credits are deducted from your account.
