ScotlandsPeople Centre
Scotland's largest family history centre, the ScotlandsPeople Centre, is open in Edinburgh at the east end of Princes Street opposite the Balmoral Hotel.
You can either visit us between 09:00 to 16:30 weekdays for 15GBP per day or we have free non -bookable two hour introductory sessions from 10:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 16:00.
It is also possible to visit our shop which has a stock of genealogy related books and other mementos, or try a cappuccino and home bake in our cafe.
Please note that it is not possible to use credits purchased at www.ScotlandsPeople.gov.uk at the ScotlandsPeople centre. Also, the records and search facilities available at the Centre differ slightly to those available online. The differences are detailed here.
We have a seminar facility for hire in the prestigious New Register House Dome area. Prices start from £100 for half a day. Further information is available here.
